Physics of Materials Processing Area (Sano Laboratory)
Our research focuses on materials processing using lasers, plasmas, and electric arc discharge as well as structuralization using these processing techniques. We simulate the interactions between energy and materials to develop processing energy on multiscales as well as to regulate material processes. Our educational and research program uses these finding to structuralize materials and induce the expression of novel functions.
