Properties of Structural and Functional Materials

Crystals Growth Design and Engineering Area (Fujiwara Laboratory)

We create novel functional quantum materials to support the advent of future smart societies. Although semiconductors are still on the center stage, we also explore other promising materials such as dielectrics (insulators), metals, and their composites. Using bottom-up approaches, we fabricate these materials and manipulate their microstructures on the atomic scale or deliberately dope impurities to induce novel functions.
