Physical Chemistry of Materials

Chemistry of Materials Area (Yamashita Laboratory)

Our research group develops clean energy and energy-saving processes to purify and sustain the environment by designing nanocatalysts, photocatalysts, and photofunctional materials. Specifically, we develop functional inorganic materials with special morphological features such as porous materials, ultrafine particles, and thin films. We also investigate their physicochemical properties and reaction sites on the atomic and molecular scales through experiments and analysis using synchrotron radiation and computer simulations.
